Our Referral Criteria Explained

Here is some further information following on from our referral form to expand on the suitability assessment prior to referring to us.

Working with Clean Slate Solutions is about a long-term career focused permanent solution.

Below are our criteria explained in a little more depth based on our experiences thus far.

This includes the likes of Cannabis and Methadone. We conduct random Drug Testing to try and align ourselves with employers’ expectations of all future employees.

We have found that any amount of Drug Misuse increases the chances of unreliability and inconsistent attitudes to employment. We want to be a clear pathway acting as beacon of hope to the person who is getting life back on track ending the recovery journey that once these battles are won then there is absolutely a pathway into employment.

All candidates must have a fixed address. Suitable housing must be in place, no sofa surfers as this cannot provide our employers the reliability they require. Hostels are not accepted as a fixed address.

Supported Housing in most cases, once employment is gained, triggers a large increase in rent to the candidate that simply is not affordable to most situations.

At this time, we cannot accept any candidates classed as a Sex Offender.

We endeavour not to over promise and under deliver and we simply do not have the employers that are willing to take on Sex Offender candidates.

The risk element of the candidate is important for us to do the appropriate Risk Assessments and ensure we support each and every candidate properly.

We expect all candidates to match our desire and determination for them to find employment.

We expect candidates to communicate regularly, answer the phone, and conduct their own job searches in addition to the support we provide.

At no point should we want this more than the candidate.

There are other organisations who are commissioned to help candidates arrange ID and bank accounts in advance of their referral.

We are happy to direct you to the relevant contacts you need speak to organise this.

Sustainability works two ways.

We are trying to provide long term sustainable employment and cannot accept candidates with Pending Court Cases as this results in wasted time and effort from the employer’s point of view. New restrictions could be imposed or even sentence in custody / community work that may well restrict work availability.
